Our approach
Secured, senior and understood.
We buy instruments we can underwrite line by line: paper secured by real property, judgments against solvent debtors, and property we can see.
Collateral first
Every position begins with the asset behind it. We price from the value of the collateral and the strength of the obligor, not from a projection.
Principal capital
The firm invests its own money in every transaction it undertakes. Our interests are aligned with those who invest alongside us because we are in the same position.
Southern California focus
We concentrate on markets and courts we know. Local knowledge is an underwriting advantage in paper and in property.
Patience and discretion
We are not a fund with a fixed life or a marketing calendar. We act when the price is right and are content to wait when it is not.
